Sophos found...sort of
Jun. 11th, 2007 03:38 pmSophos is wearing a green undershirt, a blue satin tunic, dark blue trousers, and brown shoes. The shoes are the same as the ones Gen is wearing, except with silver embroidery not gold. I didn’t want Sophos to be dressed as flamboyantly as Gen because 1) he isn’t king and 2) he doesn’t strike me as a fashion victim but more modest. (What with the cute blushing..hehe) I don’t know what royal Sounisians/Sounisians at court usually wear and thought I’d go for similar to what he was wearing in The Thief, but with richer fabrics.
His trousers are (*sidetracks pants/trousers discussion*) the same dark blue fabric as Gen's because Sophos was made on short notice for the Sophos fan art competition and I don’t have much suitable fabric at the moment.
The tunic is basically satin ribbon with a hole for the head and sleeves sewn into it. The silver embroidery on the hem and at the neck is the same at the back. It is similar to the gold stitching on Gen’s clothes. The inside hem of the tunic is lined with blue ribbon to hide the ugly back of the embroidery and it looks kind of cute too. The green undershirt is cotton silver embroidery on the edges of the sleeves.
The belt I am quite proud of. It’s made of a leather strip (similar to what Gen must have tied his hair with in The Thief) and the link from a charm bracelet and a tiny piece of wire to make the buckle. It is actually a miniature belt – the buckle really works!
The hair is light brown wool and I tried to make it a similar colour to Jeremy Sumpter’s and James Franco’s since those are our Sophos candidates. Same colour for the eyebrows. The eyes I can never get right. Sophos looks half asleep but kind of cute with the practice sword in his hand as if he is closing his eyes mid-practice with Ambiades. The practise sword is made of matches glued together. (It's also magic and turns into a pillow if you touch it, Willow. So don't try anything.) As Hebe pointed out, he is definitely a beginner with the sword - he's left himself wide open to attack. Maybe Gen can give him lessons. Sophos is 11.5 cm tall, so slightly shorter than Attolia; about the same height as Gen. (The dolls NOT the actual characters, thank you :PPPP)
Of course, he has darling blushing cheeks. The final accessory – a sign saying 'I *heart* Helen' or '*Blush*'. I was very good and didn't make a I *heart* Bears sign.
All he needs now is a cloak of rich fabric with an elegant silk tassel hanging from it. Which I may or may not make before Wednesday. Depending on whether I can find some suitable material. And I have exams on Wednesday and Friday and Monday *headless chicken act*

Now go and study, young lady!

Date: 6/11/07 03:23 pm (UTC)I have been studying, ma'am. I know my geography notes backwards. Only 2% of the water in the Colorado River reaches the estuary because it's mostly taken out to irrigate 800,000 ha of farmland. The river is controlled by 11 major dams in 7 US states and Mexico...etc, etc. This bit always reminds me of Eddis stopping the Aracthus from flowing in QoA...*shuts up*

Date: 6/11/07 05:05 pm (UTC)... I didn't even know the Colorado Rivier had an estuary, but I did know there are some enviromental issues with the dams.
I cannot compete with this. I withdraw my unstarted entry. ;-)

{You should have waited to post until Wednesday morning. Then everyone wouldn't give up in despair. Ah, well, the hindsight's full form today.}
This is really good stuff.

Snort. There will be much better entries. They just have the sense to keep them to the last minute and shock everyone with their brilliance.
