Hmm, I had forgotten about lilies being a symbol of Attolia (it's been about a year since I've read the books). Of course, there are a million different type of lilies, but they generally are assosciated with virtue, purity, faith, and chastity. Most interestingly, and relatable, I think, white lilies are connected to majesty. And these look like water lilies of some sort, probably connecting to Gen and Irene's conversation in the boat when they reach the inlet.
The use of orchids is also interesting. In my above post, I had forgotten that the word is derived from the Greek word for testicle. Lilies and orchids, then, being something of a combination of majesty and power. The orchid is also a symbol of refinement.
