I nominated Clementine by Sara Pennypacker for the middle grade category-I just read it the other day (its a very quick read) and I thought it was darling and funny, even if they say its supposedly for second or third graders. I'll have to think a bit more about SF/Fantasy, mostly because most of the SF/F I've been reading is older stuff.
