Ghosts of release dates past....

My boss is currently drafting our August schedule, and she came to me to confirm that I still want August 21st through the 25th off. I was utterly baffled, because I couldn't remember asking for that time off, though it's clearly my handwriting on the calendar where we mark desired vacation time..... I don't have any summer vacation plans or family outings (how can I, with the pandemic?), so why did I give myself a six-day vacation in August?

I told her it must have been a random vacation I gave myself so long ago that I don't even remember doing it, so she could go ahead and put me on the schedule.

Well, I just figured it out: August 25th was one of the earlier anticipated release dates for The Return of the Thief. I'd given myself a 6-day readcation so that I could reread the previous books and go immediately into the new ones.

*le sigh*

But yes, I have gone ahead and marked a new 6-day readcation in October....
