Yes. I remember several of my friends, fans of The Thief and QoA, were completely frustrated by KoQ through the first few chapters. "Why is this one about this guy Costis?" they asked. Wait, I told them - just wait. And of course they loved the book. MWT is like no other writer - I can't think of anyone else who writes stories with such obliqueness and subtlety and complexity, and with the most amazing payoffs. And they're all so different and so pleasurable in their own ways (re-reading KoA now).

So, at the urging of my sister and several others who shall remain blessedly nameless so no blame will accrue, I have joined LiveJournal in order to at least eavesdrop on the Sounis & Conspiracy Room pages, only I do not even know how. It took me a while to figure out how to write this message, and I note it is actually a comment or reply to a posting which has nothing to do with me! So, again, maybe someone will take pity and enlighten me?
