Haha, yes, it's real. A month or so ago I noticed that Attolia is exactly 7 letters, so it would exactly fit into the allowed 7 digit spaces on a Maine (where I live) vanity plate. Eugenides obviously wouldn't fit, and I don't care for license plates that are so abbreviated that you don't know what they say....Eugenides would have to be...UGNIDES? Doesn't work for me. Eddis and Sounis look too closely like a possible phrase ("Edd is what?", "So un is what?") that would only perplex viewers. However, Attolia clearly looks like a name for something, even if you've never read the books. If You HAVE read the book, it immediately pops out and it can't be confused for anything else. So, I went online to the Maine DMV's website, ordered the plate, and it arrived yesterday. Woohoo!

Haha, I would totally die if someone followed me or waved to me or came up to me and commented on the plate. Until I came to this site, it felt like the only people who'd read these books were myself and three of my siblings that I made read them (in fact, my sisters saw my new plate for the first time today, and they were also floored by the awesomeness). Having a plate in honor of a little known series makes me feel almost like I'm going undercover and only a select few who recognize the secret word will know what I am....it's great.

If other people get plates, we should arrange a Queen's Thief convention so we can line up our cars for a photo of sheer awesomeness.

(Reminder: we don't all have to use a different word or name. "Attolia" can be used once in each state, and even more if the states have other specialty plates. Maine, for example, has they regular passenger car plate (like mine) with the chickadee on it. But then there is the conservation plate, the lobster plate, support agriculture, support out troops, breast cancer awareness, University of Maine, support wildlife, and the new animal welfare plate that's coming out. Each one of those could use the same word.)

The only other plate I could think of (after reading the above discussions) that wasn't just an abbreviated name was GOTOBED, which is what the gods have to say to Eugenides when they choose to speak to him. Of course, anyone could read that and not make the connection, even a QT fan.

Thet is AWESOME!!! I definitely want to have one when I get a car. You guys are lucky with the 7 letters, in MO we only get 6. The only one I have thought is Eddis, and it will be a fight between my friend and I over who gets a car first. I wish we could have one more letter, I would prefer Attolia. I'll have to get more ideas!
