I believe the Japanese titles are different from the American ones. I translated them a few weeks ago.

Toushinden title is a little wrong.
They are "Hamiatesu no yakusoku", "Atoria no joou" and "Atarashiki ou".

I love how you drew Irene in the picture in your journal. Joou wa kawaii desu ne. She is so much taller than Gen. Poor Gen.

It's wonderful how Toushinden has reached so many countries. I am very glad it's a little popular in Nihon. I just wish the American edition had an official series title too. Queen's Thief is really a fan name. Stealing a Godly Legend is just such a mysterious title.

No... "Queen's Thief" is not very well known in America. Nearly everyone who reads it loves it, but it's name is mostly spread by word-of-mouth. "The Thief" (Hamiatesu no Yakusoku) is the best known becasue it won a book award called the Newberry Honor Award.

Gen is still a bit shorter then Irene in "The King of Attolia".

Here's a quote...

"The queen was several inches taller than Eugenides, and he leaned back to counter her spin." page 101

Toushinden is made up of the kanji steal, god, and legend. Correct? So, yes... Stealing a Godly Legend would probably be the best way to translate it.

I read "Toushinden4" and "The King of Attolia" again.
It...is...really...!!


In case of this book, I think the meaning of "tou" is "nusubito(thief)".
(Nusubito is made up of the kanji steal and person.)

So, the meaning of Toushinden is probably "Legend of thief god", and the god may be Gen.
He is not a god but he is genius about stealing.
