Whereas I'm a get the hardback and then the paperback kind of girl so that I can read right away and then beautify my bookshelves with matching sets, there's always the option of getting on your library's waiting list. They do start them before the books arrive and then when it does you'll be first on the list and have the book right away. Also, it's a good way to alert your library re the books you'd like them to be buying.
