Fanart from a newbie

Hi~ I just finished all three books a few weeks ago and have been on Eugenides high since. So I abused google and here I am. Nice to meet you all.

I drew fanart in the only way I know how to draw, anime/manga style. Hope it's acceptable here XD

Exactly how old is he? I heard that he's supposed to be 15-16 in Book 1? Did I draw him too old? too young?

My next pic will be Helen. From what I read, she's short (but taller than Gen?), has short black curly hair, and dresses like men. Anything else I missed?

Eddis has a crooked nose 'cause it was broken. And her shoulders are manly.

MEANWHILE OMG GORGEOUS. GORGEOUS. YOU PUT ATTOLIA'S HEADBAND IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND EVERYTHING. And I think Gen looks fine! I guess my one complaint would be that Attolia looks a little soft, expression-wise, but we could totes pretend she's daydreaming. Yeah, that's the ticket.

now people with coloring skills need to attack these stat.

Oooh, these are gorgeous! I like them both very much. :) As for Byzantine, it's *very* good from the neck up. I think their dresses were less poofy and more drape-y though (not that the dress you did isn't beautiful anyway!)

Those are gorgeous. You get Gen's posture just right. It's like he's been woken up and think's it's Pol waking him up not Eddis and Attolia in QoA. Love her headband and earrings.

Wow, these are really lovely! Attolia's eyes are beautiful. I don't think Helen is taller than Gen, I imagine her as being very short but dynamic. Doesn't she have a hawk-type nose?

These are absolutely gorgeous! Really, you are very talented and I can't wait to see more.

I almost think of the Attolia drawing as a young Irene, not quite the ruthless shadow queen that she is to become. But then, like someone else said, maybe she is daydreaming here, thinking about the thief and how he cried in his cell (just before throwing an inkpot and muttering, "Damn him. Damn him. Damn him!"

I am not generally a fan of Anime/Mange, but these are lovely. You are WAY better at drawing hands than I am.

My only suggestion is the same as others have already brought up: Attolia seems too soft. I imagine that even if she was day dreaming, it would be with more of a haunted look than a wistful one. Also: golden bee earrings! I want to see them...

Lovely! I especially like Gen's pose -- looks very natural -- and his boots and belt and tunic.

Attolia is lovely. A few people have commented that she looks a little gentle for Attolia, but I actually think that for an anime-style drawing, she does look relatively stern here. (I think it's the eyebrows.)
