Meetup, revised

A couple of weeks ago there was a post about a meetup with author Megan Whalen Turner in San Diego, CA.  Here are the final arrangements, as posted by Megan in the comments:

Ooh, I am very excited. Unless circumstances change drastically between then and now, I'll be there! (It'll be a chance to see San Diego, too, where I've only been once or twice before.) How do these things usually work? Aside from the book signing, that is. Are we going to go to Starbucks before? Or after? Or only if we get there early? And when do we squee and ask the very important questions that we know MWT isn't going to answer, but we have to ask, anyway?

Alas, California is so far away from Kentucky. We need to organize a mid-America/Heartland meet up, I'm thinking. Unless I'm the inly one who lives here, in which case I feel that something has gone dreadfully wrong.

I would be willing to bet that if anyone wanted a book signed, they could contact Mysterious Galaxy prior to the meet-up, and Megan would sign the book while she was there, and MG send it out.
You might even be able to pre-order CofK, and get a signed copy when it does finally come out. in March. or April. or May

just sayin'


(AND if you were to include the price of a latte for Ms MWT when ordering your book, it might just might get her sufficiently wired that she would talk and talk and talk to those who DO make it, and provide an impressive amount of tidbits and maybe even some things she wasn't intending to say, for a follow up post by those in attendance. I bet those folks at MG would be willing to stroll over to the next door Starbucks, seein' as how they don't sell those low fat grande double lattes at the bookstore.

I did that! I ordered the books from Mysterious Galaxy and Megan stopped by the bookstore to sign them. I had the books shipped here in Manila. I hope they get here soon! But knowing how Philippine post offices work, it might take some time.

I'm sad to hear you won't be there. But distance is quite the deterrent. I know that whenever I saw meet-ups on this board in the past, it always seemed to impossibly far for me to attend. Hopefully we'll all get a chance to do so, eventually. :)
