While She Knits...we were knitting and spinning too!

Hello Sounisians on this bright and glorious day, the day of Conspiracy!
anachred  and I have collaborated on a present for Megan, and we would like to share some photos here with you.

The incredibly talentedanachred  spun this yarn, Spring in the Hephestial Mountains, sent it to me, and I knit it into an Eddisian shawl. I sent it off to Megan, hopefully in time for the release day!

It can also be a scarf!
 

The pattern I created is inspired by the landscape of Eddis. On the left side is a water pattern, representing both the Aracthus River flowing down and through Eddis, and the coming of spring and new life through the melting of the show. To the right are the Hephestial Mountains, with the Sacred Mountain in the middle. The mountains are partly covered with the pattern of the Irkes Forest.



Don't be fooled--the horse in the background is as likely to step on your foot as look at you.



In its natural environment





I also made a fibula pin, perhaps similar to the ones the former Thief of Eddis was fond of dedicating to his god.

The pattern took ages to make. I knit up almost the entire ball of yarn just trying to find stitch patterns that would work, and once I had found them I charted the whole project out. When all that was figured out, it actually only took me two days to knit.

Haha, I hope she wears it to opening parties to prove to the world how much her fans love her :D

Well, I've been knitting since I was 8, but I only started "really" knitting (more than hats and scarves) recently. And I had instructions for all the stitch patterns, I just put them all together. If I was a better knitter the planning stages wouldn't have taken me so freakin long :D

She said she'd wander around the country doing signings (she wasn't sure of her itinerary in Jan.) so maybe you'll get lucky and she may drop by your area! You must, *must* go if she's anywhere near. She's a hoot!!
