Ahhhh!!!! Everyone's posting their wonderful, beautiful, TALENTED artworks and now I feel like a wannabe who's just copying everyone else :S Oh well, since I put a lot of effort in my art, I guess I should share them... and hopefully get some constructive and generous (I'm a very sensitive person, so please don't be too harsh xD) criticism and ideas on what I can do to improve!






This isn't actually how I picutre Attolia in my head... but I wanted to draw her as well as I could, and it just turned out like this.



I just scanned my original and added colour. This is my favourite version!



My attempt at "shading" failed... and it didn't help that in my original picture I'd already coloured in the hair and eyes...



Gen, Helen, and Irene! Some of my favourite chars!!! Gen looks way too young to have had his hand cut off, and I should've put in more effort to make Attolia look like she's actually sitting in a throne... The scan quality kinda sucks :'(

Well, I stink at criticism, because I don't know what I'm talking about, but awwwwww. Attolia makes me think of Irene as a young girl, when she first becomes queen. She actually looks vulnerable, with that style you used, and the big big eyes.

My old eyes can't see the smaller ones very well...:(

You did a lovely job with the colored shading on her hair--there's a shine and texture to it that's quite difficult to achieve. :)

I might suggest making the eyes a little smaller--they're a little too big to fit her face properly (especially since the rest of her features are quite accurate for size). ^-^

Thank you! I'm new at this, but I'll remember that! I'm not really sure how to do it though, I can't find anything that tells you how to do an LJ-cut :S I'm not sure if it's because I missed something, so I'll look again. Could you explain to me how I can do a cut?

I think they're pretty good for the medium, you drew them in pencil, right?
My drawings in pencil were perfectly HORRID compared to yours (I don't know what I'd do without my graphics tablet), so good job!

It rather reminds me of Greek Orthodox icons or Byzantine art with their huge soulful eyes, so maybe it's an official portrait in that style. :-)

I've never really thought of it that way, but I hardly have any experience with these genres of art so I can't really tell :P I guess they can count as that though! :D

They're beautiful, and I can really tell that you DO spend lots of time on them.

I, too, like Attolia's expression, and I REALLY love the way you did Eddis's smile and face in the trio.

Thank you! I try and make them look like how I imagine them as much as possible; the Eddis here is actually the closest to how I imagine her.
