Hey all! I just read a new book I think you might like, and not just because the main character's a thief (a girl, though). The book is called Star Crossed, and it's by Elizabeth Bunce--just came out last month. The main character, Digger/Celys, is fleeing the soldiers of the oppressive chief religion and gets taken up by a little group of noble ("nob") teens in a boat on a Venetian-type canal. She ends up playing lady's maid to one of the girls, Meris, and is sucked into a bunch of political intrigue, later blackmailed into spying on her hosts. Digger is a bit amoral, but finds herself sympathizing more than she wants to with a group of rebels. She is also hiding a couple of secrets of her own.

The book is well written and has some nice twists and turns, including a couple of the "Who do you trust?" variety. See what you think!
