Side note - I was in Borders over the weekend (big surprise) and saw they had no MWT books.  Turns out they simply cannot keep the books in stock!  I asked the Borders staff person patrolling the area and she said she had just placed ANOTHER order.  I suppose that is a good thing ...  Madison must be a hotbed of MWT fans;  I wonder why more don't show up in Sounis.

I did, however, come across a series newly in print again by John Marsden called the Tomorrow Series.  Are any of you familiar with it?  The Staff Person gave it raves reviews and was ecstatic the series was coming back into print (the first three books are out, the 4th due out later this month - but available now at Amazon.com).

I used to read John Marsden's Tomorrow series obsessively a few years ago. I definitely enjoyed it at the time, but I thought the series was complete. I have the last book - 'The other side of dawn' in front of me right now. :)

o_O Seriously. Read the first three books of the Tomorrow Series years ago, could NOT find the rest of them. Finally, FINALLY (five years later) managed to track them down at a library NOT nearby and have them shipped to the library that is. I'm currently reading the seventh book. Just strange.

But I can very enthusiastically recommend the whole series. SO GOOD. Really, you have no idea. I read books four, five and six on one big go, took about four days but had to slow down on the seventh because, a) the series was ending and I had to savor it and b) the books are really depressing. No, really. Amazing, beautiful and lovely, but depressing. Just a warning. But they're right at the top of my recommendation list.

There's another series out (at least in Australia, where the author is from and where the books were originally published) set just after the seventh book ends called the Ellie Chronicles that I really, really want to get my hands on. Here's hoping they'll be published too or that I can find them though the library exchange program.

The series is complete, but America had a few problems getting the whole series. Which seriously pissed me off. GIVE ME MY BOOKS. But it seems someone finally heard my plea. YAY.

Well, I went to Vroman's in Pasadena this weekend (as you said, big surprise - it's the last really great independent bookstore in LA) and they had all of the Attolia books, and all with the new covers, which means they sold all the old covers and had to reorder (I think). Yay.

When I visited Barnes and Noble this weekend, there were only two copies of the Thief. Earlier in the week, I was at Borders which had only one copy of the Thief and one copy of KoA. No QoA in sight at either store. A while back, I was surprised to find a copy of KoA at BJ's which is one of those warehouse stores (similar to Sam's) where you can purchase products in bulk quantity.

They used to have copies (both paperback and hardcover) of QoA (the giant hand cover, Gen in a boat) and The Thief with the old covers at bookcloseouts.com. Only the old pbk of The Thief seems to be available now.

When I was at Chapters the other day, they didn't have any of the books, so I hope that means that everyone's buying them. A few months ago when I was in the States and I bought KoA, it was the only copy left. Can't remember if that was at Borders or Barnes and Noble.

Rearranging books

I was at two Barnes & Nobles and one Borders recently, and none of them had KoA. They only had one or two copies of the other books. How disappointing.

All three stores now have, however, lovely arrangements of Megan's books with the covers facing out attractively. :)
