Yeah, "die-tee" is how I say it. I've changed the way I pronounce Eugenides about three times, but I'm pretty sure "eu-GEN-ih-dees" is right...but it might be "eu-gen-EYE-dees"...and I used to just do "eu-GEN-ides." Then I started watching things about Greece, and figuring out how things are supposed to be pronounced.
There actually was a Mede Empire...I think they were in the same place as the Persians, or fought the Persians, back in BC times...but I don't quite remember. It's been years since I've taken World History I--but I first read QoA when I was taking it, and there is an actua MEDE empire. Or Medean. If I didn't have to go to class OH CRAP LIKE RIGHT NOW I'd look them up for you. Oh, wait...that's who you're talking about. Except I've never seen them written as the Medians. Hm...just ignore me, then.
