Secret Santa Fanart
Jan. 17th, 2012 12:00 pmHello everyone!!
I have wanted to post these for over a week...I finally got up the courage to actually do it...*gulp*
These are the fanarts I sent to my giftie during the Secret Santa. They are a different style than I usually do, so I was hoping for some feedback...Here they are:
So, this was the first, but most of them were done the same way. I sketched the outside lines with pencils, then outline everything with a really smooth stationery pen, and shaded by crosshatching. I love how it did their clothes, I'm not too thrilled with Gen's face, though. This is a new style for me, drawing with a pen and shading by crosshatching...Please let me know what you think!
This was my attempt at the (in)famous orange tree scene
*disclosure* I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT AN ORANGE TREE LOOKS LIKE. But I saw some lwaves on the orange tea box, and I figure they would know ;)
This one I was pretty happy with, I did a little work on Gen's face in the computer because it didn't look so good on paper....
Details coming soon...just as soon as LJ will let me...*rants*
*Details are now up*
*I know Gen's hook is on the wrong hand...I guess I'm directionally challenged :P

My favorite is the Orange Trees. I love how you were able to do the looking down on Irene perspective, and to me, it looks like Gen is ready to start juggling that orange (showing off to Irene, off course!)
I really like Gen on the Throne. It exactly captures Gen behaviour in front of the court (when he isn't falling asleep, of course :) And the coin up in the air - showing off in front of Irene again - really gives your picture life!
In Dancing, Irene looks like an angel with her skirts billowing around her like that - and I like how they are looking so intently into each other's eyes.
Thanks for sharing!! :)

1221bookworm was exactly right about the perspective on Orange Trees. I adore the border!
Be blessed in your (drawing) endevours!
God bless!

Date: 1/17/12 08:52 pm (UTC)Thank you...the orange border was pure laziness...I didn't really want to fill in all that space, so I played so games with perspective...I'm glad you like it!
