Holiday Madness!

I know, geez, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, right? But already the stores around us are filling with tinsel and paper snowflakes and that can only mean one thing! Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice are nearly here! (Plus maybe some other holiday that no one really talks about...) Anyway, with that in mind it's also time for our annual Secret Sounisian gift exchange!

A quick reminder on how it works:

Anything You REALLY DON'T WANT in Your Gift:
Can You Pitch-Hit: This one is REALLY important. I realize that things get crazy around the holidays and some of you may not be able to come through with your gifts. If that happens I need to know who else I can turn to to make an emergency last-minute gift so that no one ends up sad and Queen's Thief present-less. Please be as honest as you can when answering this.


I will then take this information and randomly give everyone an assignment in a private lj message. Make sure that you check your inbox and that you can receive messages from anyone. I will give out assignments in a few days after people have had time to sign up here. Once you have your assignment you can just come to the comments here and see what your person wants. If you feel really uncomfortable with an assignment or suddenly have to pull out of being a Secret Sounisian altogether please TELL ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so I can fix the assignments accordingly.

The official gift-giving period will be between December 15th and December 31st. (Don't panic if the 15th is too soon for you. I just started the period there so that it includes at least the tail end of Hanukkah.)

Remember, all gift-givers should be a secret (tell no one!) and all gifts should be Queen's Thief-related.

Also, I have a question for you guys - last year I used MegaUpload for my file sharing, and I'm leary of other filesharing sites after what happene with MegaUpload. Does anyone have any suggestions for a filesharing site they trust? I know my Secret Santa used TinyPic to send me icons last year, what do you guys think of that site?

This year I was thinking of trying to avoid the file sharing websites if I can. I recall that causing difficulty and confusion last year, also some people had trouble figuring out how to deliver their gifts anonymously. Instead, I was thinking that everyone could just send their presents to me through e-mail/lj message and I'll forward them to the right people.

As for your e-mail address, I think it would be a good idea for you to send me a message with it just in case. I just want to have an extra means of contacting everyone in case shenanigans occur. If you're uncomfortable about that though, then don't worry about it.

And thanks for all the times you've run this thing!

That sounds great actually, I was actually thinking of passing this year because of the file sharing snaffoo last year, so I think thats a good solution. I just PM'ed you my address - let me know if you get it, it' not turning up in my sent folder.

And I've never run the Secret Santa, it's been all Earthstar up till now - I was just saying thanks for your hard work :)
