FALALALALA LALALALA.

Who else besides me is getting ready to buy the gift that keeps on giving?  Books for the holidays!

What books are you giving as gifts?  And what books for yourself are you sneaking onto to that Amazon order because, well, you have that free shipping anyway, right?

Don't forget the movie they made from it, "From Time To Time", starring Maggie Smith!

For a fun book with a heroine named Verity, try _Discount Armageddon_ by Seanan McGuire. It's the first book in her InCryptid series about cryptozoologists.

Try _Follow My Leader_ by Leon Garfield. _Tunnel Through Time_ by Lester Del Rey is also very cool.

Yes! My sister got me that movie -- I thought it was good -- great cast!

But "Green Knowe" was WAY too big -- not at all like the real house, even in the (supposedly) old parts. And the staff, also was a bit large. Mrs. Oldknow had a servant in the movie to do things she did herself in the book. Which (to me) weakened the story line just a tad.

Good movie, though -- even though the books were better. (But doesn't that always happen?)

Speaking of which, I do recommend the new Hobbit movie -- Peter Jackson doesn't do violence to the story, the way he did with The Lord of the Rings. (And I really liked those movies, too -- even though they could have been better *sigh*)

I'm looking forward to the new Hobbit movie.

Have you seen the Rankin-Bass cartoon? The animation's quite wonderful; it's what inspired me to read the books.

Received Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel for Chanukah. Am reading it like a chocolate bar - it delicious, decadent licks that turn into greedy gobbles.
