This is pretty much how I calculated it, too. And if Gen is somewhere in the 18-20-ish range during QoA, that's plenty young enough for both the "golden age" statement and Attolia's calling him a "boy". (I'm 23 myself and "They're like, 12!" = anyone younger than me. :P)
