I was reading about a fun project/contest developed by a children's book author, James Kennedy, to adapt Newbery books into 90-second (sometimes longer) films. The adaptations feature children, and some are quite good. I was surprised and excited to find an entry for The Thief. It's a humorous 3-minute movie created by elementary school kids. I don't think it's been posted to Sounis before, so check out the short video here.

You can see more of the 90-second Newbery films at the contest creator's website.

Cheers!

The magus's mustache is wonderful. :-)

Also, Eddis in pink. It doesn't work but it does.

Oh my gosh, that was precious. The credits alone are worth watching it for. Owner of swords, owner of wooden horse, Godlike God.

OMG this was precious!!! It's so interesting to see how the intended age group for this book actually interpreted it xD

I've seen this project before...definitely watched one about A Wrinkle in Time that was equally hilarious. I remember the dad showing up and saying something like "Hello, I've magically appeared to save you, but I'm going to be no help whatsoever." Kids know how to crack a joke. And they're too clever for their own good.

EDIT: just watched The Witch of Blackbird Pond...At the end, Nat says "Kit, I'll take you on my boat for keeps."

TOO FUNNY

What adorable kids! XD My favorite part was rich dude magus on the mini john green tractor, and Gen's piercing stare into the camera. I'm sure he'd approve of the victory jump.

OMG, that was both extremely creative and hilarious!!!

"You have not yet offended the gods. Take it.... No dude, seriously, just take it already!"

Lol, that magus kid! "Are we there yet? *1.5s later...* Yeah, I think we are!"
