Two quick announcements!

Final schedule:
The amended schedule is now final. Here it is once again:

• Character nominations: Now through April 1st, not closing before 10 PM EDT
  
• Signups: April 4th through the 15th
  
• Assignments sent out: April 19th at the latest
  
• Default deadline: May 13th
  
• Fanworks due: June 12th
  
• Fanworks revealed: June 19th
  
• Artists/authors revealed: June 26th
  

Nominations:
There are now 31 characters approved in our tag set! You can see them here by clicking "Expand All" next to Books and Literature. The nomination form is here.

Notes:

• Gen's mother is in the list as Gen's Mother | The Queen Thief. This doesn't match the canonical tags, but Queen Thief is confusing due to the name of the fandom, and Eugenides' Mother could be confused with the god's mother.
  
• If you did intend to nominate the mother of Eugenides the god, please reply to this post or email hamiathesmod@gmail.com and let me know if you mean the woodcutter's wife or the Earth.
  
• Two people nominated Relius. I've approved the first, but if you're the second, I'm leaving that nomination unapproved so you can change it if you want.

It's all my fault! I meant Gen's mortal mummy, of course. I noticed the canon tag later. XD I forgot she had one... I agree that Queen Thief is confusing, so I still like mine better.

Hi there!! I am a bit late to the game (as in, I haven't logged in for almost a month) BUUT! I am very interested in this fanwork exchange! I would really love to write a song (music major here, yaay!) and I am totally not sure how it is going to fit in to all of this awesome creative energy! I don't have a tumblr account but I will be checking my Livejournal more often now( t'was quite the busy month for me, this March thing...)

How do I participate? Do I need to nominate a character or do I just pick one?

Thank you so much for your patience! I have never really done any "fanwork gift exchange" and this is going to be really exciting!! ^^

I'm happy about the name you ended up going with for Ion the Attendant (vs. Ion Nomenus) - there was a tag for "Original Ion" which I wasn't sure was actually for the QT fandom at all, and apparently no one on AO3 has written about him in a fic yet (??) so I had no idea what to call him.

In lieu of pendrecarc, I might be able to answer a couple of your questions...

You need to have an Ao3 account, and then everyone has the ability to nominate characters - up to 4 - if the existing tags or nominations don't include the characters you want.

After the nomination period is over, when fic/art exchanges are being arranged, everyone will choose characters they would like to receive fanworks about only from the nominated list. That means if you don't see your characters on the list here, definitely join Ao3 and add your nominations so you can get them in before the nominations period closes!

I'm sure you can start participating at a later stage, too, if you don't want to nominate anyone.

Glad that works for you! A little ambiguity's fine when you're tagging a fic, but if we're trying to match based on characters I'm hoping to be as specific as possible.

You don't need to nominate to participate, but if there are specific characters you want to offer or request and they aren't yet in the tag set (http://archiveofourown.org/tag_sets/1150), you can nominate them.

Signups for the exchange will open April 4th. I'll make announcements with more details when that gets closer, but you can read the exchange FAQ (http://archiveofourown.org/collections/HamiathesGift2016/profile) for specifics. Let me know if you have more questions.
