my entry
(Anonymous) 2016-12-22 07:28 am (UTC)(link)Why I should have an ARC:
I NEED the book.
I could cry, whine, and keen piteously about all the time that I have been waiting (years and years!), – but I have no desire to be told by a cherished author to “Stop whining” or “Go to bed.”
I might point out that I have collected 1st editions of all your books, but that might be admitting too much just how much I love these stories.
I suppose that I could mention that I am a teacher who happens to have been moved up (yet again!) with her class – which means that I have back (for one last year! – this makes four years now) the students that I taught for three previous years (and to whom I introduced this series – reading aloud from class sets) and that I would love to show them the ARC and tantalize them with it… but I’m above that. Really.
I could tell you just what I think of your stories: they are beautifully written, well crafted, multi-layered tales with nuance, foreshadowing, and vivid descriptive language that bring scenes and characters to life...and that I never tire of rereading (and find something new to think about every time), but I wouldn’t want to be accused of flattery.
So, I think that I’ll simply say: I have beautiful earrings.
