They're pure sugar, tooth-rotting fluff that pops up like mushrooms in the spring and are an iconic Easter treat. Basically, they're marshmallows coated in a crunchy layer of brightly colored sugar in the shapes of baby chicks and bunnies. There's a lot of Easter specific candy in the States, because of Easter baskets (baskets full of candy usually given to children) and putting candy inside plastic Easter eggs you hide for children to find. I swear I got more of a sugar high on Easter candy than Halloween candy as a kid.
They're one of those things that looks really cute and yummy, but is actually disgusting when you try to eat it. Like rock candy... XD Some people like them, and I did when I was a kid. After awhile, you tend to outgrow pure sugar candy, but most Easter candy is geared towards children.
