Wait, what does this sentence mean? " In spite of the fact that Gitta Kingsdaughter has just leapt onto the stage with a full blown backstory..." Did I miss something? Was there a short story I missed or...what? WHAT BACKSTORY??
I am working on another book now and that’s the last for this world. In spite of the fact that Gitta Kingsdaughter has just leapt onto the stage with a full blown backstory like Athena from Zeus’s head, I am not, not, not going to write a whole book about her. Really. Honest. Definitely not doing it.
Just as an assurance to herself that she's only writing one more book, and with that wrapping up the series, despite the fact that she does have this fully realized story she could tell?
Hooray for a Scarlet Pimpernel shout-out! I'd never considered any similarities between him and Gen, and now I'm asking myself why I didn't think of it before.
It sounds like mwt is trying very hard to convince herself to repress a new character she has fallen in love with. Is that...healthy? Repression, I mean.
I have mixed feelings about the "one last book" idea. On the one hand I NEVER WANT THIS SERIES TO END.
On the other hand (sorry, Gen...bad term) I have been waiting so, so long. Not sure how much more waiting can be done to see this series resolved. Maybe being put out of my misery would be a good thing.
I'm glad to see so many interviews and talks to promote TaT and the series.
As this "there's officially no book 7, though" Her answer was "I am not, not, not going to write a whole book about her. Really. Honest. Definitely not doing it." What do they say about people who deny too strongly? Anyway ... 1 book at a time :)
I just saw that on the map and found this post! My theory is: I think Irene probably did miscarry this time, but that note is assurance that they have a daughter later--that her time comes around, as Irene hopes when she hears the poem about the river from Kamet. It made me feel better to think so, anyway!
