Queen's Thief Quote Tattoo Ideas?
May. 28th, 2017 02:27 pmI collect ink to celebrate the truths I have gained in this lifetime that I take with me beyond the flesh and grave and the Queen's Thief literature absolutely deserves everlasting tribute, for how it has influenced my life and the wonder I have come to recognize in my experiences ever since.
I am thinking of a set of two pieces, one quote tattooed on each of my legs, diagonally above my knees, that I can read, when I draw my knees up. I know for sure the line I will use for the first one, my favorite line in all the thousands of lines, on my left leg:
"She sat perfectly still, looking at him without moving
as his words dropped like water into dry earth."
Honestly, I feel compelled that it should be two, one to reflect the Queen of Attolia, the other to reflect the King of Attolia (although they don't necessarily have to be from those respective books).
The other quote I was thinking of for my right leg is:
"He didn't marry you to become king.
He became king because he wanted to marry you."
To me, the above embodies the archetypical irony that MWT represents, and yet I don't love the line as much as I love the water-into-dry-earth one.
I would love to hear your thoughts. What lines from the Queen's Thief stick with you most, move you, have changed you, have inspired you, that you would hold inside you always and take to your grave?
I originally thought I would have them in book font / times new roman but.... now I'm thinking that I want to write one in my own regular handwriting, and one in my (shaky) left handed handwriting, because there's so much meaning and metaphor in ... reaching a point in our lives where we have to start over again on the "other side," that might be moving across the world and having to communicate in our second language, rupturing a tendon/ligament from overuse of the wrong muscles in even the most everyday movements, and learning to reawaken the proper muscles mid-life and learning to use "the otherside" than we are used to... it speaks so much to me.
