I love how you set up a thesis, lay out your points and bring me to agree with your conclusion completely! I was rather surprised by the scene in the garden (loved it!) with Irene, because I didn’t think Kamet would have much to say to Attolia. (Though they had a lot of history together, he once helping his master to try betray her and all.) Now with these connections, I’ll see it even more.

I’ll bet that Gen had a hand in showing Irene more about who Kamet was and made her sympathize with him. Because, in QoA I’m not sure if she spent any time thinking about Kamet, but she seemed very sympathetic in this book.
