queensthiefI was browsing back through some interviews with MWT and came across one from a few years ago where she mentions the possibility that a nameless character may foolishly try to intimidate Eugenides with elephants and that all Eugenides can think of us how to steal one, which led me to think of Hanibal trying to bring elephants across the mountains in an attempt to conquer Rome. Do any of you think that could be the inspiration for MWT's idea? Could the Mede emperor's heir or his brother Nahuseresh be foolish or desperate enough to try it?
