Is anyone attending https://crossingscon.org/? I feel like a complete slacker for not, but... lots of the sessions were during work and I just couldn't face learning another virtual platform.

But some of the sessons Megan's doing look really interesting (https://crossingscon.org/events/), so I'm also really bummed.

I've tried to make it to a couple, but haven't seen much yet. I think some people in the Discord group were saying there would be recordings posted later if you weren't able to make the live events.

On man, some of her sessions look really fun, and the one that includes talk about what she's working on now--do you think it would just be a lot of "not tellings"? :-)

The sessions are almost all during the work day in my time zone. It looks like their youtube channel has full recordings of some past cons, so I'm just going to assume this one will be there eventually and I can watch when it's convenient.

I'm working during the week, so haven't attended anything EXCEPT I got a slot today for a five minute one-on-one video chat with Megan herself! I was working, but since I work at a library, my coworkers were very understanding when I basically screeched, "OhmygodIgettohaveapersonalchatonlinewithmyfavoriteauthorofalltimetodaysocanyoucovermeforaboutfifteenminutesthisafternoon?OKthanks!!!!!"

It was great. I also pulled our teen librarian into it because she's also a MWT fan. Aside from a few overly giddy moments in the beginning when I could NOT speak coherently, it felt very comfortable and lovely. We chatted about how long I'd been a fan, I showed off the Hamiathes Gift that I'd made years ago and just happened to have at my work desk, and we talked about whether a full-hardcover box set would be issued now that Disney has the film rights(unlikely).

Then the chat ended and I basically bounced around the library for half an hour before having an adrenaline crash. It was great.

I have to say that I didn't love it. I figured it out long enough for my one-on-one chat with Megan, but the whole set up felt a little unnecessary.

I've heard from different people that they'll be posting recordings later (someone in the Discord group was actually involved in one of the panels and has said this), and in one of the panels I just attended they said they'd have a list of all recommended books available later, so it sounds pretty promising.

I haven't done much with it other than dropping in to an event or two, but I've liked it. I think part of it is that after so much isolation the last year, it's felt closer to an actual author convention where we can interact with authors and chat with other attendees. Overall, I like that it doesn't require purchasing a book to attend or complicated registration, but that you can just drop in and get onboard with just a few minutes. Learning a new system was a little more work than I was prepared to put into it, but I've also been pretty casual about attending and didn't really care, so nbd to me. Have you seen any?

Awww, I missed this, I'm just dropping back in after being Away from Sounis.

Does anyone know if the videos were posted? Some of the sessions looked really interesting. Also does anyone know if Megan will be at the one next year?

I just checked YouTube and there are some videos up, but I couldn't find any with *our* author yet.
