I'm with Checkers. They can't turn around like this and criticise your methods after saying they wouldn't - particularly if there's nothing wrong with the kids' reading levels. And I have to say, I've heard nothing good about the system you mentioned that they liked.

Something similar was forced on us in school and all it did was make me suffer years of torture of books with no plot!! I'm probably scarred for life.

No wonder you're angry. Don't you let them do anything! I'll think vengeful thoughts and send them in the direction of the Lexile people.
