[identity profile] cherryblosomjen.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] queensthief
Hello all! I'm Jenn, from California. You may have noticed me lurking around the comment boards. I've been waiting until I had something somewhat substantial to say to actually make a post.

I am thrilled to find such a lovely group of users who are interested in the series. Until Last week I didn't know that "The King of Attolia" even existed. I went straight to Barnes & Noble and started reading it in my car; I was finished by that night (despite all the other things I was supposed to be doing at the time).

I had first read "Queen of Attolia" about five years ago (and hadn't realized until later that it was actually a sequel to "The Thief." I had given up hope of seeing anything else written by the lovely MWT -- since it had been so long and am thrilled that I was wrong.

Anyway, yesterday I told my friend Lizeth about the series and lent her "The Thief." When she saw the cover to King of Attolia she fell in love with it. So, I made her this (instead of cleaning my room like I was supposed to).

It's not the best thing in the world; I'm horrible with color mediums (including colored pencil) but it was fun to make.

Oh my, that is very, very good! I actually like your style quite a lot. You seem very talented!

It's good to see you coming out of the shadows! I'm sure everyone will be happy to have another talented artist in our little mini-fandom.

Do you have any more works on the way?
The plan is to have 99 more (I signed up for [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100), so let's hope so!

And thank *you* very much as well. I'm glad you liked the story. Actually, I'm glad that people are even reading the story! When I first signed up for the challege, I figured I'd be writing 100 fics that only I would be reading. But luckily I found this community, so hurrah for that.

Dude, awesome!! You have an excellent grasp of values :) I love the texture, too...the crosshatching gives it a whole new look, like "yeah, this is just something I scribbled...SCRIBBLED PERFECTLY!!!! BWA HA HA HA HAAA"

Sorry, too much art class. I like it :) Good to see someone else with some mad drawing skillz.

Welcome! The drawing is great. So many talented folks here. Well, except for me. I'm only good at asking many questions!

Hey, and welcome! I wondered when we were going to see your intro. What a beautiful piece of work! I love the way you've managed to get such a lovely skin tone with the cross hatching and show all the angles of his face and hands. :) You've made me hanker for my oil paints. I gave up paiting about six months ago and I miss it.

But yes. Oh, I'm not sure if you know about this post already, but we're sending a fan letter off to MWT on Monday. (The post containing the letter is here: http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/10794.html )

If you have any questions that you'd like to add, just post a comment with them. :)

We all must be on the same wave length or something. ;-)

Great minds think alike. :) I know there're still questions to ask, but it's hard to think of them spontaneously. The questions usually just come up as you're reading, so re-reading is probably a good idea. Any excuse. :)

Which reminds me, I still need to ask how long we'll have to wait for the next book, in the letter.

I belong to the comm called 'Athanarel' here. Sherwood Smith hangs out there, it was incredible being able to read her original and new works as she posted them, and give her feedback. There's something almost mythical about authors, it's always incredible to talk to one.

I've just remembered something else that I wanted to mention. It's a bit late notice, but will you be at the livechat tonight? We're getting together to talk about the Questions thread, the visit on Tuesday and so on. It's in about an hour, if you're free, just head to the chat rom and type in 'Sophos' and join the chat. If not, feel free to head along to the chatroom any time. Some of us hang out in there when we're free.
