Hello all! I'm Jenn, from California. You may have noticed me lurking around the comment boards. I've been waiting until I had something somewhat substantial to say to actually make a post.
I am thrilled to find such a lovely group of users who are interested in the series. Until Last week I didn't know that "The King of Attolia" even existed. I went straight to Barnes & Noble and started reading it in my car; I was finished by that night (despite all the other things I was supposed to be doing at the time).
I had first read "Queen of Attolia" about five years ago (and hadn't realized until later that it was actually a sequel to "The Thief." I had given up hope of seeing anything else written by the lovely MWT -- since it had been so long and am thrilled that I was wrong.
Anyway, yesterday I told my friend Lizeth about the series and lent her "The Thief." When she saw the cover to King of Attolia she fell in love with it. So, I made her this (instead of cleaning my room like I was supposed to).

It's not the best thing in the world; I'm horrible with color mediums (including colored pencil) but it was fun to make.

And thank *you* very much as well. I'm glad you liked the story. Actually, I'm glad that people are even reading the story! When I first signed up for the challege, I figured I'd be writing 100 fics that only I would be reading. But luckily I found this community, so hurrah for that.

Date: 2/25/06 07:15 am (UTC)When my friend saw the KoA cover she said she would probably have bought the book just so she could have the cover. I kept looking at it and before I knew it I was picking up my sketchpad and drawing it.

Date: 2/25/06 12:00 pm (UTC)But yes. Oh, I'm not sure if you know about this post already, but we're sending a fan letter off to MWT on Monday. (The post containing the letter is here: http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/10794.html )
If you have any questions that you'd like to add, just post a comment with them. :)

Date: 2/25/06 05:08 pm (UTC)I did see that post (and wow how cool) but at the time I wasn't sure if you were still accepting questions. Now that I know you are I'll be sure to add some.
I remember when I had first read Crown Duel (years ago) there was a Yahoo news group dedicated to it and Sherwood SMith would visit at times. It was the most exhilarating feeling to be able to ask her questions about the world she'd created... This is just like that -- so exciting!

Date: 2/25/06 08:13 pm (UTC)Great minds think alike. :) I know there're still questions to ask, but it's hard to think of them spontaneously. The questions usually just come up as you're reading, so re-reading is probably a good idea. Any excuse. :)
Which reminds me, I still need to ask how long we'll have to wait for the next book, in the letter.
