Werl, I've been slowly collecting all of the doodles and such that are related to Queen's Thief for posting, and doing the ones I haven't done yet. So it'll all be trickling in throughout the next couple of weeks. At the moment, though, I am far, far too lazy to scan anything in, so you get something I just did today - The God Eugenides. :)
For an understandable reason, Gen and Eugenides have an interchangeable design in my mind. The only difference being that Eugenides is darker and redder, and has glowy golden eyes. I am certain that the eyes are not canon, but there you have it.
And I forgot his scar. Duh. Pretend that little mark on his cheek is it.
Finally, lol to me, because I can't find my books for reference. I was real worried about this, until I realized that we're all, for the most part, squealie fangirls, and as long as it's sexy, who really cares? XD Yay for inaccuracies!

That is AWESOME.
Okay, reverting to rational life here...I particularly like the way the face is a man's not a boy's. And the eyes (which would in most cases squick me out--I love the human iris) are just part of it.
I would be a little more unhappy about Gen looking so mature, though. I mean, yes, he's been through a lot, but he doesn't have the jaw for it yet, I don't think. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Then again, I really, really want to see some more of what you've done on the theme, so be sure I won't be too unhappy to see Gen's face per your vision.

Date: 1/5/08 02:32 am (UTC)Anywho, yersh, I try to keep in mind that Gen's only around 18 or so, whereas Eugenides... hmm. Not old, he's just been around for a LONG time. Maybe "weathered" is a more suitable word here. Yes. Weathered does nicely. And I think Gen's smile comes easier.
(Lolol, I do that non-closing thing all the time. Once I bolded an entire entry by mistake. Curse you livejournal, only allowing paid accounts to edit entries!)

Date: 1/5/08 02:49 am (UTC)It was habit getting me. See, I closed an italic that was actually bolding. I never bold, what would I use a "b" for? *sigh*
Weathered, yes. In a way that includes a few years more bone development. For some reason the hair/skin color/face shape make me think of a man who was young in the 70s, now. Some of them are silly, but others have a certain dated glamor.
Okay, enough with the effusions now. Hope you don't mind me projecting all over your portrait. ^_^

Date: 1/5/08 03:37 am (UTC)It could also be the collar, y'know. It sorta looks like it could be one of those jumpsuit things, what has a v-neck down to the belly... Oh! Mental image! Mental image! *scribbles quickly*
Few people realize that Eugenides, god of thieves, also doubles as the god of sexy disco-dancing on Saturdays.

And see, my magus avatar has the collar, too. It's a conspiracy...
My huge question of the day is, why is everyone reporting their reading goals of the year in my lame little post below when they could be frolicking here among jumpsuited studmuffins?

Date: 1/5/08 04:29 am (UTC)Truly, a symbol of great power.
By the by, I realize that your avatar is the ineffable Alan Rickman, but why are you calling him the magus? Do you just think he would be a good one, or is it from a movie? PS, did you perchance see him in Sweeney Todd yet?

Date: 1/5/08 03:55 pm (UTC)Mercy. I would so want to watch that movie, if it wasn't that I'd never watch that movie...
Depp and Rickman. I feel robbed.
Um, no movie. I just think he'd make a great magus (though I think he's a little old for him now--I visualize the magus as younger than Gen thinks at first, at most early fifties) and besides. I like Rickman. I like the magus. It fits. Voila!
Collars are cool things, done right.

Date: 1/6/08 02:25 am (UTC)Anyway, Rickman=really cool. I don't really picture the magus to be so long in the face or so, uh, nasal as Alan Rickman. XD Not exactly sure how I do see him though. Never really thought about it...
