Hi there! I just discovered Megan Whalen Turner's books in the last few weeks, and have been terrible in putting aside all other sorts of work in order to track them down. In the end, I read them in this order: Half of KoA, then the Thief, then QoA, then KoA again and to the finish. Reading the start of KoA with and without background knowledge was each time a very different experience - I'm glad I did it, really, even if it was by accident.

I know this is likely an irritating thing to ask, but does anyone here know whether MWT is working on any writing projects at the moment? I very seldom find an author that goes instantly on to my "to buy" list, and I would love to know if there'll be anything coming up of hers for me to get my hands on.

Welcome! it's fun to hear about your experience with the reading order. Who are your favorite characters?

Rumor has it there is another book about Gen in the works.

:-)

Welcome! I also read them out of order: QoA, T, KoA.

re the next book--Megan herself said last year that she's working on it, and she should know...

One the one hand I'm glad she spends so long on each book--with every word carefully chosen, every plot and character nuance well thought out, etc.

But it is hard to wait patiently.

Welcome!

We can certainly help you with catching up on your reading, we have alot of suggestions around here. (The thing is, Megan says shes writing another book, but actually shes knitting. So While She Knits we talk about Books Megan Didn't Write, :-)

That part I knew - didn't everyone decide that the next book was going to be about Nauther-dork's underwear, which happened to be in that exact shade? *wonders how she got addicted to this odd, odd fan community so quickly*

Hello! Your icon is really neat.

KoA was the first book in the series I came across, and I almost bought it, but for some reason I didn't... luckily, because then I went home and googled it, and found out that it was actually the third in a series.
