I could weep.
Jan. 13th, 2006 10:23 pmYou DO exist! Other fans of these books! Amazing! And so I have joined the community.
Hello. My name is Robin, I'm sixteen, and I have loved The Queen of Attolia since forever, and, to a somewhat lesser extent, The Thief. I've never met anyone else who read the books, except my friend whom I forced them upon and the reviewers at Amazon. I even started an internet group of my own once, but nobody joined. I stole the name of Nahuseresh to give to an evil, oleaginous Med(eo-Persian) satrap in a play of Daniel in the Lion's Den my play troupe did, but no one noticed. I despaired of the existence of other fans.
I just found out about The King of Attolia today. I am astounded. It doesn't seem to be out where I live until the 24th; can I wait? I'm just so jaw-droppingly astounded. I was convinced Megan Whalen Turner had fallen off the face of the earth. But a new novel arises! And from the description it appears to be second-person from the perspective of this Costis; is she moving through all possible perspectives? Is this true, those who have read the book, and is it as different from Queen as Queen was from Thief?
And I just discovered this LJ community today. I am astounded. So many fruitless interest searches before had I led! And now, after all this time, here you are!
I won't be reading any of the spoilers posted yet (though I ache to!), because I remember how much I enjoyed the twists of the previous books, and also, I'm going to reread tT and QoA first.
In conclusion: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EXISTING, GUYS.
