vaireweaver.livejournal.comGreetings all! I've been lurking here for a while, but I decided I absolutely had to join and post. I just reread the Queen's Thief series... and they were possibly twice as fantastic as before. By the way, I always call them the Attolia books—how do you all refer to the series as a whole?
I read the books almost exactly a year ago at the recommendation of some friends at another forum—they actually began to call it the "Attolia conspiracy" as they gained more and more followers. I finished them in a whirlwind... I laughed, I cried, they moved me. :D So I forced the books on my two brothers... one got as far as QoA, the other finished The Thief, and inexplicably they didn't want to read any further. I'm shocked at how we could be cohabiting the same gene pool! :D
To lend some real substance to my post, I thought it would be fun to nominate and vote over at ImagineCasting for possible actors—just fun ideas of course. I think a majority of the real cast for a film would have to be unknown actors, particularly Gen. Anyway, I've already set up the pages: The Thief, The Queen of Attolia, and The King of Attolia. You just register rather quickly and then you can suggest more actors or vote. I think I have to add characters on, though.
I've already nominated a few people that came to mind. One of which is of course Alan Rickman as the magus. He came to my mind in the middle of QoA, and he was the magus in my mind for the rest of the series. I wasn't too surprised when I saw that so many of you liked that idea here as well. I also really like the idea of Emily Watson as Eddis (pic).
