Another introduction!
Jan. 28th, 2009 08:05 amHello everyone! I just recently devoured the Attolia books myself and after years of refusing to name favorite books in fear of hurting the others' feelings, must confess to adoring them above the rest of my collection.
A few questions!
I have heard talk of another book. My first reaction would be OH MY YES PLEASE NEVER STOP, but the second is, where might I find out more about it?
What else... I withhold hope that Sophos is still alive (see, he CAN'T be dead... it would devastate me! There's no body! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT!), hope desperately that Costis is in the next book because he's sensible and amazing, and I think the the title should be "Eugenides Rules Attolia, Eddis, Sounis, and Then Conquers the Mede Empire Because Wouldn't That Be Awesome?" The Abbreviation could be "Eugenides Rules," because he does, indeed, rule.
Well, that's enough silliness for now. Nice to meet you all!

Date: 1/27/09 02:26 pm (UTC)What I know about the new book, I learned here in comments, etc. It's due out sometime in 2010 as of now, though you never know how that'll turn out. I'm waiting on a book that got pushed back an entire year. Either way, it's confirmed. I read somewhere in comments that MWT slipped that Sophos is alive and where he is. I won't spoil you by saying unless you tell me to, though. :3
Lol @ Eugenides Rules. Awesome title, but too bad that wouldn't be a likely title. I'm sure she'll stick with the same format for titles. Job descriptions!

Date: 1/27/09 03:21 pm (UTC)OH YES YES I KNEW IT. No, don't tell me where he is. I'll just wonder. Perhaps Mede, spying on the empire? Oooh, the delicious possibilities.
I am fine with job descriptions. I wonder if it'll be Annux (sp? I don't have the book nearby to check).

Date: 1/27/09 03:21 pm (UTC)yes, blushing Sophos ain't dead. And about the Annux foreshadow talk on the other post, my wicked idea that Gen will take over Mede but that was just a speculation on my wild imagination part * runs off till 2010**
Oh, and Welcome!!!!!

Date: 1/27/09 04:45 pm (UTC)Have fun speculating! There's so many possibilities, even with what we already know.
That's what I was thinking, too. Though, I'm holding out for that being used later. Because that would mean there'd be more than one more on the way~

Just a few hints towards the next book.
Glad you popped over. :D
(please do post the crack conversations. The links were in the chatroom, but a lot of people don't go there)

Date: 1/27/09 11:15 pm (UTC)My sister convinced me to read the Thief, but I wasn't as drawn into it. It took months before I read Queen (in one day), and then King in the next week.
Print this out and show it to her:
Hello, random sister of someone I don't know on the internet. I'm here to tell you that you should totally read The Queen of Attolia.
I know The Thief wasn't as enthralling as you might wish for in a book, but trust me, it gets WAY BETTER. It has to, right? I mean, I, as a random person on the internet that doesn't even know who you ARE, is advising you to read it because I felt it was that good. That says something, right?
You won't regret it!
There ya go.

Date: 1/28/09 02:03 am (UTC)But now she understands, because I've almost finished reading it to her. (Last night we read the drunk Gen on the roof scene. We'll finish tonight. :-) Unfortunately we weren't able to completely avoid giving spoilers to roommates, though we were fairly successful up to this point. Just as I started reading above mentioned scene two of my roommates had to come in and use the same room and, well, we weren't pausing the awesomeness long enough to move. So they heard it. But I guess its not all bad, because they said they thought it was HILARIOUS despite the lack of context and really want to read the books now. :-)

Date: 1/28/09 05:03 pm (UTC)Say, if he needed to, um, get into the Medean prisons. To find Sophos! So he would grit his teeth and lose and find Sophos and escape and later (possibly in a later book) give Nahuseresh the verbal and swordly beating he needs.

As I was discussing the creation of Percy Pig cookies with Em last nigh, I have no defence.
