While she knits....what have you been reading lately that are good for Thief fans?

I recently discovered the "And I Darken" trilogy by Kiersten White (book 3 was just released). In some ways it reminds me a bit of the QT series: takes place in a historical world similar to our own, but changed in some way, making it "fantasy" even though there's no magic. Small countries jostling for borders, lots of political machinations, moving armies around, sabotaging your own resources in order to befuddle the enemy....and the main character is a ruthless woman who takes extreme measures to obtain and maintain her throne (albeit, even more ruthless than Irene). And unlike a lot of YA fantasy these days, romance is no where near the forefront of the story.

What other recommendations have ye got?
