There will be another regular chat held at The Conspiracy Room this Saturday. 4-5 Eastern US time, 9-10 GMT as usual. Again, if anyone really wants to come but can't make it, comment and we should be able to sort something out. :) Iris might drop in on Saturday too, for anyone who's interested in the mini-game he's trying to design for The Thief. The transcript will be posted for anyone who can't make it, but it would be nice to see as many people as possible. Lurkers, posters, all.

As in the room? Just click on the link on the side of the screen - 'The Conspiracy Room' - and type in the password and your name.

I probably can't make it to the chat, but don't worry about changing the time.

About the game: you realize that there has to be a level for the temple/maze. (It's too obvious to keep it out.) You could lay it out similarly to how it's described in the book, but maybe with a few more turns, forks, etc. And for the trick room, it would be cool if you stepped in, then had to immediately turn and jump to jam your fingers into the door. If such things were possible, of course. Then, once you broke though the obsidian wall, you could have a mini movie, showing the scene with the gods. Then you would have to race back through the maze, trying to keep ahead of the water.

You can complicate or simplify this as much as you want, depending on how much of that is possible, how much work you want to do, etc.

:) Yes, that'll certainly have to be a level. So far, the first level will be Gen stealing the king's seal, the second may well be Gen sneaking through the inn where they first stop to find food, as CBjen suggested earlier. I'm not sure if Iris is going to do something the journey in between, but the maze may actually be two or three seperate levels (although one may be easier) and then there'll certainly have to be a level with their fighting the guards, escaping from the Queen and fighting and running again.

Whew. :) Yes, it depends on how good a game Iris can make between now and when he's promised it to me in August.

This has reminded me, in case fabricalchemist or any other wonderful artist drops by, these are the screencapes of the sorts of things Iris was thinking of for the cut scenes, and needs someone to draw. Apparently movies on a flash mini game look tackier than a storyboard. o.o

I can't make them any bigger. I hope you guys can get an idea of the type of sketching from these.
