[identity profile] attackfish.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] queensthief
I have two invite codes to give to people in this community.  Please comment if you want one.  ETA.  I have no more, but [personal profile] lilian_cho  below has four more.

Since this is my first post to this community, I suppose I should introduce myself.  I played Gen in the most recent chat roleplay, which was the first time I had roleplayed in quite a while.  I am writing a YA fantasy novel, interrupted frequently by writing Harry Potter fanfic, and I hope someday to be published.  Back in middle school, I discovered the first two books about Eugenides, so I found them when I was actually the target audience.  My does that feel odd now that I'm in my senior year of colledge and I read YA fiction still.  I suppose I won't ever grow out of it.  I'm writing it, for crying out loud!

I'm in college as well, and most of what I read is from the YA section. Adult fantasy can be repetitive, I've found, and I have more trouble finding books I like in it.

I agree--there are only a few authors whom I really like in adult genre fiction.

You won't outgrow YA fiction, attackfish, because that's where you find real story telling today! I'm in my 50's and most of my favorite new books are YA's.

It's fun to see who shows up from various fandoms on this list. I will now go back to lurking.

I think I might be interested, though I am not entirely sure what Dreamwidth is. I just discovered it yesterday, because a review I wrote of Patricia Wrede's Thirteenth Child got picked up in a collection of links relating to the Mammothfail element of the book (Thirteenth Child is a book about a North America in which there were not, and never were, any native peoples).

I'm not sure how much I'd use it, but considering all the fuss, and the possibility of actually having the name I want--d'you still have a code?

Thanks! I'm paperpenguin now, it's an unlocked account for reviews and stuff. *uploads from old dead no-one-reads-it book journal* :)

Hey, I'm on Dreamwidth under the same name. I had somehow failed to realize that you could start communities over there-- what's the consensus, should I start Dreamwidth-Sounis?

Can comms crosspost to other comms like users can? I would hate for there to be a divide.

Your icon is cute, Peggy. Did someone tell you how to write your name in katakana, because that's what it says. I might just start calling you Pegi now.
