I've seen lots of book trailers for upcoming books lately. If there were to be a book trailer for A Conspiracy of Kings what do you think of these guys doing Viva La Vida, a song oft-suggested for the books?

What do y'all think of book trailers and would you like to see one for any/all of the QT's books?

*is on a campus computer where youtube is blocked*

There are a couple trailers on youtube for KoA which I hate because they make it look boring. Oh please no! If anyone has movie making skillz PLEASE REMEDY THIS SITUATION.

*doesn't have movie making skillz*

Random side note, if you don't read Sarah Rees Brennans blog you probably didn't see this:

Wow, they have such talent!! When I heard that someone else was singing the song I thought it would be pretty bad, but that was actually really good. The original version had a little more gravity though, so it fits the books better in my opinion.

Wow! Why wasn't MY music teacher like this? These guys are wonderful. I love how much they get into the song, and it's really well done.

Apropos of nothing: "FEEL the fear in my enemies' eyes"? Shouldn't that be SEE? Ahh, poetic license, I guess. I do love this song, though.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHO RELATED THIS SONG TO THE BOOK

I thought about mentioning it here, but I was afraid of what Viviolo would do to me, since she hates Coldplay, and I felt connecting them to her favorite series might equal me being ostracized and mocked horendously.

But NOW I HAVE VALIDATION FOR MY DORKY LOVE OF THAT SONG. 8D

As for book promos, I could never really get into them. But if anybody does try and do one for the Attolias, I'd totally love it.

It does sound a bit like "see", but the word is "feel" in the original song, as well. You can check the lyrics on the link below.

"Viva la Vida" is a beautiful song. It would make the perfect book trailer for "The King of Attolia".

I know, it is feel, but every time I hear it I chuckle just a bit, because it kinda doesn't make sense. It sounds better though, which is why they wrote it that way, I suppose...

I've been playing around with Animoto and threw together a quick book trailer (http://animoto.com/play/ErcjnWuaKk31w73j0vyvxg), breaking all kinds of copyright laws and including random landscapes and a shot of Heath Ledger as the perfect Sophos.

I would have used The Joker and the Thief, but will bow to the Viva la Vida pressure.

Yeah, Viva la Vida is the KoA theme song!! In my opinion, Black Roses Red is the QoA song... but I would love to hear what other people think.

Hmmmmmm... you guys really have me thinking. I'll put some thought into making some trailers of my own!!

Ooh, awesome, Chex! I like. Gratuitous Heath Ladger is always welcome :DDD

By the way, what were all those pictures of courtyards in the QoA section?

The first two are the Getty Museum in Malibu, California and the third is the Hotel-Dieu in Paris. All very Attolia-like, don't you think?

Hmmm. My mental image of Attolia is yellower, but I'm getting mixed up with Sounis. Attolia *is* meant to have more rainfall...
They're beautiful buildings!

Song for Queen of Attolia?

Anyone heard Hallelujah? You know, famous covers by Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainright? Well it seems to fit the Queen of Attolia to a T. =]

eep, I missed this comment somehow. Anyway, no, this is the only one I've done and had been wanting to try out Animoto. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
