Anyone up for a SoCal ThiefCon?

So, I was thinking sometime this fall we could have a SoCal meet-up in San Diego.  If the illustrious MWT is available (and in the area), perhaps she could join us.  I've found a bookstore/cafe that seems like it might work.  I haven't scouted it, since I'm in LA, but it looks good online.  It's called the Upstart Crow.

Any interest?

She is in the area, though I've no idea if she's available. As for the Upstart Crow, if it's the place I remember in Seaport Village, it's not big enough for much-- but then, as it's there, there's plenty of places nearby to actually sit around and chat. It's a lovely park.

Nice. Upstart Crow had good customer reviews (IIRC) and it looked cute. Personally I'm fine with Borders or B&N, but I also love any reason to throw some action to the small businessman. Now we just need participants. :^D

Wah! I'm a native San Diegan, and I'm 5000 miles away from there! The Upstart Crow is nice and central, although Seaport Village is a little tourist trap-ish.

As a by-the-way, if you haven't already discovered Mysterious Galaxy (http://mysteriousgalaxy.booksense.com/NASApp/store/IndexJsp), you may want to find your way there and see if they have any signed books you want. (They specialize in genre books and only that, but there's a Starbucks on the corner if you want coffee.)

If you're in the LA area, why don't we meet in the LA Area? I'm in Orange County.

But if MWT will be in San Diego and can't make it to LA, I'm happy to go that far.

Well, I think we can be flexible. The hope is that we can organize a meetup with MWT, but if that's not happening and most of the participants are from LA, then we can certainly do it here. :^)
