I wrote to my father, as politely as I knew how, to say that my sword work was improved and that I was sick of poetry (sick of Malatesta’s at least). With a marriage to the queen’s cousin Agape planned, there would soon be a much more appropriate heir to replace me, and could I please come back to the mainland? I prayed to the household gods to save me from one more day on Letnos. Within a day of sending the letter, like an idiot in an old wives’ tale, I got what I asked for.
So many questions! When does this take place, both in the story and the overall QT timeline? Why is this in first person (FIRST PERSON SOPHOS, YAY!!) when the previous snippet was in third person? And, uh, how long until March, again??

Date: 11/7/09 08:31 am (UTC)I guess I've never actually had that feeling when away from home, so that didn't occur to me at first; but you are probably right, TLE. Maybe, I'm just not a very sentimental person. Hmmm... I never had trouble settling in to a place I was visiting.
