Hiyya everybody!! I'm new around here (not exactly new.. but I never find time to post anything here due to the heavy boulders of asignments I carry as a result of attending university). Its the first time I EVER joined a blog and sounis is the only reason I joined LJ. My addiction to MWT and the Queen's Theif a couple of months ago during a stroll in the university library, and suddenly a book caught my attention. Alas, it was KoA! But I kinda figured out from the cover that I have to read the the previous books to understand. This how the journey started (and is still going on): 
The Theif - loved it!
The Queen of Attolia - just adored it!!
The King of Attolia - omg!! there're no words to describe my obsession!!
Conspiracy of Kings - I'm having stomach cramps thinking of it!!
So I really thanked god that I didn't read the book sooner, or I would have literally died.. =)

Anyways.. I've got this question: In the KoA, Gen says to Costis that "don't give up because there is little chance (of assasination or heir)" - sorry but I don't remember the words properly. Does that mean anything? I don't know why it caught my attention but I think it would pretty cool if they find themselves a heir. =)

Its so great being here with all of Gen's fans (where I live, I don't know a single person who even heard of the series.. hopefully that won't keep bookshops to delay the book release) and be a part of it!  =)


P.S. Hopefully you understood my post despite the spelling and gramatical errors (my English sir is soo gonna kill me!)

Gen: The queen and I could both be assassinated, and you could end up the captain of the guard to my heir. Don't give up hope just because chances are slim.

Costis: For the assassination or the heir, Your Majesty?

(shocked silence)

Gen: Costis, you're picking up bad habits from my attendants.

I don't think there is much more going on here than Costis implying that there is no chance of Gen and Irene being intimate sexually, and therefore there is no chance of an heir from Gen bloodline. Of course, since we know that Gen and Irene are engaged in a real marriage, we know Costis is wrong. I think that Gen and Irene will have a child eventually, but we shall see what Mrs. Turner decides to do.

No matter what that line is funny. Costis being that bold was amusing. I still don't know if he was being brave or stupid.

I agree. And then it turns out that Eugenides IS nearly assassinated.
As to Costis being stupid, I think there's just something about Gen that makes people lose their temper sometimes, he's just THAT amazing!

I agree, although I don't think we'll see the heir for a while, seeing as both Gen and Irene are very young. I can't quite see Eugenides as the father figure yet.. not just yet, but surely one day.

I think Costis got fed up with answering all of Gen's remarks (Shouldn't you be more decorative? - Costis what is the Medean words for to hit, idiot, and death?) with "Yes, Your Majesty" *grumbles*.

He bit back which I think shocked Gen more than anything.

Of course, I believe Costis had an "Oh cr*p, did I just say that out loud?" moment immediately after.

Dubai? Wow, that's amazing! I've heard that's like the most amazing city ever!

Megan and her QT series really brings people together from ALL OVER THE WORLD! If you think about it in a metaphorical/figurative way it's like Gen is uniting the countries of Eddis, Sounis and Attolia in the books, and people outside the books..wow.

Thanks to everyone who cleared the question for me! (not to mention the beautiful comment about Dubai =P) although I'd rather see Gen (struggling) as a father.. Would be really funny!!

Better go listen to my IT professor now.. =(
