Hi, i guess i'm probably what you would call a lurker but I have a question that is in desprate need of answering.  I'm a little confused about when CoK's official release date is, I've seen March something or April...  So what is the official day that someone could say go to their local Barnes and Nobles and pick up a copy?  Sorry, I'm sure this is probably already stated somewhere but I'd really appreciate any helpfulness for us slower Theif series fans lol :-P

I don't know, either. I've heard a few different dates.

Okay, it is confusing. I was on Greenwillow's FB page and I saw that they had a post saying "Happy release day to [some book]!" I looked at the page on Greenwillow's website where they listed all upcoming releases and this book was listed under February even though it was released January 26th. So my suspicion is that the official release date is March 23rd, even though the April thing has been thrown around. On the other hand, I don't know if you could walk into a bookstore on March 23rd and find it there.

Apparently it looks as if Greenwillow is confused as well so we have so many dates. However even that adventure meet the author Megan said April so I'm guessing its April.
They don't want us to do a community countdown it looks.

I was wondering this, too. I actually pre-ordered the book at my local Indie today, and they said it's release date was April 1st, and I was feeling all traumatized that I might not be getting it as early as everybody else!!

Barnes and Noble is scheduled to have it in the store for sale on March 23rd. That's the put it on the shelf date. It could actually arrive at the store a few days earlier, and since I don't think it has a strict release date, you could go ahead and ask if it's in slightly early. I don't know about other bookstores though.

As In understand it (which is to say, not very well), publishing release dates are not usually strictly enforced unless it's something like Harry Potter, where they're trying to create huge buzz by withholding the book until midnight (which seems kind of misguided to me, but...sorry, off on tangent).

Last week I bought a book which was not officially out yet -- many bookstores just put them on the shelf when they come in. So...I'd start checking around March 20.
