Hey, goodnight everybody!

I haven't been here for a little while (way too much going on!) But WOW -- a lot's been happening! It seems Sounis never sleeps!

So I went to check out the new(ish) book trailer from Greenwillow, and the question people are discussing there is: What does Eddis look like?

So, what do you think? I found a picture of somebody I think might do -- pretty, but in a normal way, and with very short, curly hair and an amazing smile. But of course you'd have to imagine a broken nose -- and I think Gen says that Eddis is "hawk faced," so this girl might be too soft featured. But I liked her for Eddis anyway....

TOO PRETTY

but

I do love her hair. And her smile.

Agreed... this girl is too gorgeous to be Eddis. (Though her overall appearance seems right to me.) I've known very average people who became suddenly more attractive when they smiled, and people whose personalities made them lovelier the longer I knew them. That's how I imagine Eddis.

Too true! I love it that there are people who appearance has become dear to me only because they have become so dear to me. Reminds me of Darcy's comment in P & P. :)

This one?

"Mr. Darcy had at first scarcely allowed her to be pretty; he had looked at her without admiration at the ball; and when they next met, he looked at her only to criticise. But no sooner had he made it clear to himself and his friends that she hardly had a good feature in her face, than he began to find it was rendered uncommonly intelligent by the beautiful expression of her dark eyes."

Also, from Lizzie: "You appear to me, Mr. Darcy, to allow nothing for the influence of friendship and affection."

Yes! And the part where Mr. Bingley's sister makes a mocking comment about Lizzy's alleged fine eyes and her mother's wit, and Darcy bites her head off.

Yeah, I'm just gonna go with what the other two have said. He hair is great, though. Eddis's could definitely be something like that. XD

(and I forget who mentioned it first, but I still like the idea of this guy in my icon as Gen...sort of. Now that I've seen some of the stuff he's in, I'm not sure if I see Gen, but he's so darn cute and snarky and he's got curly hair and he's Irish...*swoon*)

They could totally use subtle prosthetics to give her a broken nose. It would also make her less pretty, and then if they paled her skin just a tad... she looks the part. XD I like it!

THAT IS MY EDDIS - or the closest I've seen, definitely. The hair and face-shape are exactly how I imagine them, and I love the way she's smiling. (Also, I doubt Gen would approve of this orange dress either...)

Wow. Obviously the nose isn't right, but she really seems as perfect as one could get otherwise. That smile!

Way, way too perky. If there's anything which characterizes both Attolia and Eddis, it's their gravitas.

That's why Anna Maxwell Martin is my Eddis of choice:

I think the person in that picture is a bit too scary to be Eddis. But I agree, I can't really see Eddis grinning such a sunny smile as the girl in the picture at the top of this page, either... I always pictured her smile as soft and sedate, but completely sincere, and that's why it came off as being so beautiful. Eh, just my opinion.

I could have sworn I saw this picture at my dentist's office!

She really does have a great smile, though and hair.

I sort of imagined Eddis as more Greek...hmm..like black hair, date palm tan but I LOVE the hair!

She's too beautiful, but otherwise perfect :-)

I like her. Break her nose and stress her out a bit (you know, wars, political intrigue:) and I think she'd be perfect. I imagine this is the face she would have before she became queen. Then once she's queen she's a bit more focused and that beaming smile only comes out on rare occasions.

that would be the way to do it now, wouldn't it?

Oh, I think she's great - I love the hair. )
