In which The Thief clocks in at number 83 on Fuse #8's "Top 100 Children's Novels" poll and Elizabeth Bird recalls an earlier encounter with the reprobates from Sounis regarding her review of King of Attolia. In her words: "The fans are . . . let's just call them dedicated."

Top 100 Children's Novels (#85-81)

(wondering how she came up with the list? Guidelines are here)

Had they heard of this poll, I have little doubt that The Thief would have ranked far higher in the votes.

This...is probably true. Hm.

Heck yes it is! Although she's completely right. If we'd know about it, it would have been in the top 30, easy. Maybe even top 10. But I guess we should be glad we didn't, since this is way more of a representative survey that way...otherwise we'd all be skewing the results.

Maybe Fuse 8 will do a similar top 100 YA books next year, and we can all go and put QoA and KoA on the top of our lists :)
