This has been an awful week out of a terrible year, but for a few hours A Conspiracy of Kings lifted me out of it, transported me elsewhere and lightened my burdens. Thank you.

I await the next book with excitement and extreme trepidation (you've turned me into an extremely careful and aware reader, so yeah, I'm both hopeful and scared out of my mind about what's to come).

Thanks again. You rule, as always.

Argghh!! I can't wait!!

I ordered my book with a couple of other items, and selected the free shipping option...which means that the estimated delivery was March 29th. But it shipped Friday, I've been tracking the package online diligently, and this morning it said the package has arrived in Gardiner, ME, where I live!! Now I just have to wait for the mail guy to bring it here!

I called in sick to work, by the way. I have an outdoorsy job, and it's pouring rain...I called in sick before I checked the package tracking this morning. And now I'm freaking out at my good luck of being "sick" on the day KoA is arriving!

Phew...Ok...I should go get dressed and then sit by the window.

Woohoo! My copy is here!

I just heard the mailman drive up, rushed to the window, and peeked from behind my curtains as he approached through the rain with a package for me!! Then I had to wait several anxious minutes for him to actually deliver said mail, return to his little truck, and finally drive away. I have my hair up in little buns for a wavy-hair experiment, so I also waited another anxious moment while the old lady that lives downstairs got her mail first and went back inside. Gargh! Can an 82 year old woman walk any slower??

Then, like a girl nervously waiting as her date arrives, I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans, straightened my spine, and walked downstairs to get the mail.

I may have been breathing a tad heavy as I cut the box open with shaking hands. Now that the book is here, I'm too nervous to open it! All I've done is open the cover (the spine stiff and just barely crackling with newness) and smell that new book smell. Wheeee!!

Ok, I'm going to go read now.

Thanks MS! As I said in the last poetry post, I left LJ the day ARCs came out and I didn't have one. I am so paranoid about Thief spoilers I left the entire site. I haven't visited anything on LJ until last night. LOL. I'm hard core when it comes to spoiler avoidance.
