Hi, all you wonderful, wonderful people.
I have been quietly enjoying the Queen’s Thief books all alone for so many years and trying extremely unsuccessfully to convince everyone I know to read them just so that I could have people to squee with.
With CoK coming out, I just couldn’t stand being *finished* with it and having to begin another long, lonely wait for the next one.
I have no idea why I’ve never searched for this community before.
I tend to be quieter/shy online, so I was planning to just lurk around, but seriously, you guys have way too much fun for me to not try to join in.

So… I just thought I’d introduce myself and say that I’m steadfastly devouring all of your archives.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a long standing lover of the books but a newcomer to the fandom? Favorite links (fic/discussion/reviews/whatever)? Discussions you’re loving right now? I need a fangirl outlet.

-BG

Welcome to Sounis! I'm no good with the help you're looking for (computer/fail) but someone will direct you, I'm sure!

Welcome! I'm another internet-shy poster, upon which Sounis worked its transforming powers. =)

A funny side-note: I am too old to have grown up with computers (*is jealous of the youngsters*) and when I joined LJ (for Sounis) I had to ask questions about acronyms (still do) and learn some basic html (didn't have a clue what it even was)and such. I have learned so much now! I now know that Google rules the world, for example, and that you can look up a n y t h i n g on it. I cannot, however, make an icon to save my life, although kindigo worked with me for hours and graciously just made some for me herself, then Te Aroha made me my default one, then I stole some, and and and. Anyway, I hope you have an equally positive experience here in the nicest comm in the universe. :D

Welcome! It's always great to meet someone new who loves these books as much as we all do. As for waiting for the next one...? OH GOSH we know how that feels. Don't worry though, because at least this time, we're fairly confident there will be a next one. It's great to meet you!

I don't know if anyone's already pointed this out to you, but one of my FAVORITE things ever are [livejournal.com profile] checkers65477's Legottolia comics. I'll let it speak for itself--- the first one's here (http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/50507.html) and the second one's here (http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/301170.html). And another thing randomly floating around in my LJ memories: [livejournal.com profile] viviolo wrote a terrific song for The King of Attolia to the tune of the opening song in Aladdin. (One Jump Ahead, or something like that.) You can read the lyrics here (http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/267855.html).

Enjoy!

Also the random MWT interviews we get linked to here. I know there was one within the last few days. And the read aloud! Checkers can probably supply the links. =p

Ah, I have much experience in the "roommates/other-people-in-the-computer-lab think I'm insane because those darn Sounisian Reprobates are so insanely funny."

You're in good company.

Welcome! I'm still relatively new compared to a lot of people, so I'll let the "old timers" share some of their favorite discussions and such. I am going to second [livejournal.com profile] drashizu and say that the Legottolia comics are pretty much the best thing ever.

There is a link on the left hand side of the main sounis page, but take a look at the readaloud:

and also, here are all the entries tagged as fanart--we have some very skilled artists hereabouts:

Could I piggyride on your post and say I'm brand new as well? Just stumble here couple of days ago and don't even sure about how to navigate the Livejournal yet.

Currently, I'm reading the archives (why don't I find out about you guys sooner) and just fall in love with the 6 words drabble. Lots of good stuffs.

And now I shall steal all the recommendation here for my own private glee!

I understand what you mean! If I'm still digging through the archives at this rate, I definitely won't get anything done. :D

Here's the 6 words drabble I've mentioned:

I especially love the one with the Minister of War/Gen's mom and Eddis/Attolia. Oh, the one with Eddis/Gen as well.

Enjoy!

HI!

I'm glad you are happily archiving! (you've probably already noticed the tags index, but if you haven't, http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/tag/ )

And the Readalong, which started here:
http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/312199.html
and continued every Friday after that, is awesome!

Welcome, all you newbies! I'll echo agh_4's mention of the tags page. It's the best way to locate posts on specific topics.

http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/tag/

And if you haven't read MWT's Disney Adventures short story, and the story in the pb version of King of Attolia, you can read them here:

Also, feel free to post new questions about any of the books if you can't locate answers in the archives. We love to discuss any topic, even if it's been discussed before.

How are you enjoying Forest Born? I've read the first to Bayern books...

I loved the first two Bayern books, the third one not as much and this one was...unmemorable? *sigh* There's nothing wrong with it, it just didn't do much for me.

Ah yes, I know this feeling. There's nothing wrong but at the end it still doesn't feel like there was anything right either. I just figure it means that the author and I didn't click on that one.

Welcome to our little world! Isn't it great to find others? And isn't it weird to see other people talking about what was until now your own private world?

Here's my favorite discussion:

I like the Stephanie Meyer one. :D

Again, welcome!

Hey y'all! This place is awesome, I know you'll love it. And great first question, I love when all these links get collated in one spot.
