Last week I posted a request for everyone's favourite authors
And here are the results (I think it's quite clear who is the second favourite in this community):
(click to embiggen)

Looking at the biggest names, does anybody spot a similarity between their books and Megan's?
If anybody's curious, here's a wordle of this page of the community.
Also I'm sure I made one of these a couple of years ago but the tags are confusing me

Date: 5/2/10 07:26 pm (UTC)Try the Vorkosigan Saga. They all standalone, more or less, but the first chronological one is Shards of Honor, last published in an omnibus with the second, Barrayar, called Cordelia's Honour.
I hope you enjoy.
I hope lots of other people find this a good place for recs.

Date: 5/2/10 07:27 pm (UTC)And read them in order. PR described them as "Gen in space"
First is about Miles' parents and how they meet. It's called Cordelia's Honor (or is "Shards of Honor" then "Barrayar" when split into 2 books)
The first with Miles in it is called The Warrior's Apprentice.

Date: 5/2/10 10:00 pm (UTC)Larger-than-life characters driving twisty plots in detailed, richly imagined worlds, with prose styles characterized equally by a sense of wonder and a sense of the ridiculous.
Which is, imho, just a long-winded way of saying Really Good Books.
