I've been watching Sounis for awhile, but I decided on impulse today to finally join yayy. I've been a fan of Turner and Eugenides (fan is not really the best word, hah) since the fifth grade (seven years ago, woahh)  My teacher had it in a bin for everyone to read, but I loved it so much that I kept it for the entire year. I wish I had never returned it. =)
Well. The main reason for this first post is to get my Eugenides out of my head. You see, no one else I know has read the books, despite all my years of prodding. Also, throughout all my aches and pains of having to live with the fact that he is fictional, I had never been able to actually find a person that fits with the mental image I've had for all these years. I think that the perfect Eugenides would be Julian Casablancas of the Strokes.

Also, welcome! I wish I'd discovered the books when I was in 5th grade. Uh, actually, I don't. Because that was about the time The Thief came out, so then I would have had an agonizingly long wait for the rest, lolol. I discovered them a few years ago, not long after King of Attolia came out. :D

I can definitely see Gen in him. He has a bit of a sly look to him. And he's cute, but not drop-dead gorgeous. Very cute, though. I don't want to offend anyone, there. :-D

Hi, nice to meet you! Except for author meetups (which are awesome) I don't know anyone who's ever read the books either. Isn't it lonely? Luckily we have this wonderful site to squee and keep us sane until the next book comes out :)

I think he's a pretty good Eugenides. (His hair's a bit off, but I'm assuming that's because of gel or something) And he's the right age. Plus, now I am thinking Gen + leather jacket. This is a good thing.

I think he is a pretty great Gen. Maybe a little too pretty--my Gen is a bit tougher looking--but I love the dark eyes. Nice.

Good job finding this Gen. I really like his expression, and I THINK he's pretty close to how I imagine him (I always have trouble pinning down exactly how I picture characters -- sometimes it's more strings of feelings than physical characteristics.)!

Welcome! I'm sorry about you not having anyone to squee about the books with. Try giving them to a friend when they leave the country and need something to fill their idle hours--I just did that with a friend who has resisted reading them for years. She read them both in a week...and liked them! Effective strategy!

I like this Gen. He has that stuck up but ultimately sweet look in his eyes. Good find!

He looks kind of similar to how I imagine Gen, actually. Except for the mouth, which I imagine thinner.
I actually imagine Gen a lot like (what you can see of him) on the cover of King of Attolia.
It's usually impossible to find actors who look exactly like visualizations, though. Unless your visualization comes from a comic book, of course :P

Thank you so much for that link, I've listened to that song a billion times but never thought that I could link it to Gen in so many ways. =]
Maybe I'm just fishing, but I love how some of the words fit, too. I laughed especially at "Drop your guard, you don't have to be smart all of the time."
And then there is "If you believe in this world then no one has died in vain/ Don't you dare get to the top and not know what to do" and even "I live on the frozen surface of a fireball"
