The first chapter of Queen of Attolia is now up on the Readaloud thread. (Read by your's truly!) It's being hosted on YouSentIt, so it's only going to be up for 7 days. Get it while it's hot and all that.

I'm (clearly) going to have a hugh pain in my ass if I have to keep uploading this stuff onto a temp. site whenever anyone wants it, so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for solutions to our hosting problem. We need to host quite a few large-ish (approx. 15 mb) files, so if anyone knows of a good way to do that please speak up.

You have to be a member of the community to see it, but assuming you are: log on. go to the post where people are signing up for the different chapters ( http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/39728.html#cutid1 ). then scroll down to QoA, and where it says chapter 1, should be a link. Does that make any sense?

I think you can store sound files on the 'gallery' space you get with paid LJ accounts. I use mine for videos. Just a thought. :)

my computer keeps trying to download the file, but it goes really slowly, and then when it finishes it tells me that there was a problem downloading because the file could not be read... And insight?

That would be ideal because that feature allows others to stream the files without having to download them, I think. The problem is, this community isn't paid for. :) Oh well.

Ha, I'm an idiot. I went to the bother of converting my file to an mp3, and then proceeded to upload the giant .wav file anyway. Yikes. I'm suprised no one caught this earlier!

I shall reupload and update the link by Thursday morning, so perhaps you'll want to try again after that? So sorry for the trouble!

Yes actually. roseveare just brought to my attention the fact that I accidently uploaded the .wav file that I had done the original recording in rather the the mp3 that I converted it to and meant to upload. That's probably the cause of all the trouble. I'm going to reupload the correct file and update the link by Thurday morning, so perhaps you'd like to give it another shot then?
